1. Role Context
OpenKyber requires a senior Cisco SAN engineer to support discovery, strategy, migration planning, implementation support, validation, and closeout for a confidential production storage-networking refresh. The environment requires a methodical SAN professional who can protect production host-to-storage connectivity while modernizing Cisco MDS switching infrastructure.
Current-State Context Target Outcome Fabric platform Cisco MDS storage networking environment with MDS 9250i / 9148Sclass switching and redundant fabric considerations. Refresh aging SAN switching components while preserving fabric resiliency and host/storage reachability.
Logical SAN configuration VSAN-based design, active zonesets, PWWN zoning, device-alias dependencies, FCNS/name-server visibility, and host/storage pathing. Validated target configuration, controlled zoning migration, and clear evidence that intended initiator/target paths remain available.
Migration execution Production environment with limited tolerance for unplanned disruption. Staged MOP/ATP-driv Active CCIE Storage / Storage Networking Treat as the strongest credential signal for this role. Candidate should be advanced immediately to technical methodology review.
High Direct Cisco MDS SAN migration experience Must be able to discuss MDS discovery, VSAN validation, zoneset handling, device aliases, FLOGI/FCNS, path validation, and rollback.
High CCIE Data Center with storagenetworking depth Acceptable secondary path only when supported by hands-on Cisco MDS implementation and migration work.
