Position Summary:

The Nutritionist, under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director / Sport Medicine, is responsible for the daily nutritional needs of all the intercollegiate athletic teams. This person must provide exceptional nutritional guidance, education, and information for the student-athletes and sports programs regarding injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating, and living. The incumbent will assess and counsel student-athletes on optimal nutritional practices for exercise training, competition, recovery from practice, recovery from injury and illness, weight management, hydration, and supplementation. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or a related field is required and a minimum of 1 year of experience. Must possess licensure in Dietetics/Nutrition, in good standing, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligible to pursue upon being hired. Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and relevant databases. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
  • Master's degree.
  • Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) preferred.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience at the Division I collegiate level.
Required Skills & Abilities:

* Demonstrate professional competency and skills required for professional practice, including, but not limited to, current food, nutrition, and health issues and research related to sports nutrition.

* Maintain yearly continuing education in the field of sports dietetics.

*Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

*Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

*Experience working with healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines.

*Work experience that demonstrates the ability to work successfully with a diverse student population.

*The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.

*Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.

*Strong oral and written communication skills.

*Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

*Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
