Description:

Working closely with the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor, the Color Matcher/ Batch Maker will work with the paint manufacturing warehouse team to blend pigments and base materials according to established formulas. Your expertise in color matching, knowledge of paint manufacturing processes, and commitment to quality control will contribute to our success in delivering exceptional paint products to our customers.

Requirements:
  • Follow batch tickets and formulas to accurately measure and blend pigments, base materials, and additives to produce various paint colors and finishes.
  • Operate blending equipment, including mixers, dispersers, and tinting machines, ensuring proper settings and calibration for consistent color results.
  • Conduct color tests and adjustments to achieve desired color accuracy and consistency, using color-matching tools and software as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to perform regular checks and inspections on blended colors, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized blending area, including proper storage and labeling of raw materials, cleaning of equipment, and disposal of waste materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and inform the Supervisor of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving blending-related issues, such as color variations or equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Continuously stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to color blending and paint manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in paint technology, color matching, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with paint manufacturing processes, including blending, dispersion, and quality control a plus.
  • Proficiency in using color-matching software, spectrophotometers, and other relevant equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain precise measurements and ratios.
  • Ability to read and interpret batch tickets, formulas, and technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot blending issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy containers, and operate blending equipment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different departments.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds regularly
