OVERVIEW:
A Computer Operator is responsible for the overall monitoring and health of the Central Data Center as well as the West Orange data center. They are responsible for the creation of the Active Directory accounts during their shift in accordance with the departmental policy and procedures. Computer Operators monitor multi-technology computing platforms, interfaces and servers. They are responsible for ensuring a stable operating environment and attaining maximum utilization of system facilities. Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and peripheral equipment. Schedules and performs production runs. Provides a 2nd level of support to the Caretech Enterprise Service Desk as needed, and performs QB triaging of calls to admins within the Server, Messaging, Network, Backup, San, and UNIX teams to ensure the appropriate person is contacted only on an as needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS:
A High school diploma, Data Processing/Operational Support School or equivalent. 0-1 year(s) of IT experience.
Work Environment:
Subject to various shift assignments and odd hours. Subject to assorted machine noise.
Physical Demands:
Subject to various shift assignments. Lifting of up to 50lbs. 25% severe strain, 75% little strain.
