Job Description

Careerscape is supporting a client opening for an On-site Entry-Level Database Administrator. This role focuses on maintaining database systems, monitoring database performance, supporting data security, performing backups, troubleshooting database issues, and assisting with day-to-day database administration in an on-site work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain database performance and availability
  • Perform database backups, recovery, and routine maintenance
  • Install, configure, and update database software
  • Monitor database security and user permissions

  • Optimize database performance and storage utilization
  • Assist with database migrations and upgrades
  • Generate database reports and system documentation
  • Collaborate with developers and IT teams on database solutions

  • Perform additional database administration and IT duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT support, database administration, systems administration, or related technical roles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site environment
