Job Description
Key Responsibilities Document Control - Manage the creation, revision, distribution, and archival of controlled documents, including engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with internal document control procedures and industry standards
- Maintain document control systems (e.g., PLM, ERP, or DMS platforms)
- Coordinate document reviews, approvals, and change releases
- Perform periodic audits to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness
Bill of Materials (BOM) Management - Create, update, and maintain multi-level BOMs for complex assemblies and products
- Ensure BOM accuracy, including part numbers, descriptions, revisions, and quantities
- Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Validate BOM structures against drawings and manufacturing requirements
- Support new product introductions (NPI) by establishing and verifying BOMs
Configuration & Change Management - Process and track Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Ensure proper version control and traceability of product configurations
- Communicate changes effectively to stakeholders across departments
- Maintain change history and documentation for audit readiness
Cross-Functional Support - Work closely with engineering, production, procurement, and quality teams to resolve discrepancies
- Support manufacturing by ensuring accurate and accessible documentation on the production floor
- Assist in system improvements and process optimization initiatives
Qualifications Education & Experience - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field
- 2–5+ years of experience in document control, BOM management, or configuration management in a manufacturing environment (high-tech preferred)
Technical Skills - Experience with PLM, ERP, or document management systems (e.g., Agile, Windchill, SAP, Oracle)
- Strong understanding of BOM structures, part numbering, and revision control
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Soft Skills - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in electronics, semiconductor, aerospace, or other high-tech industries
- Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001) or regulatory compliance requirements
- Knowledge of configuration management principles (e.g., CMII)
Work Environment - Office and manufacturing floor environment
- May require occasional interaction with production teams and suppliers
