Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Document Control Specialist for a Contract position with a client in Scarborough, ME . This role is responsible for reviewing, processing, organizing, and maintaining controlled documentation within the Document Control System, ensuring compliance with applicable quality and regulatory guidelines.

Rate Range: $25/hour to $30/hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Document Control Specialist job responsibilities include:

  • Review and process change requests for new documents and revisions to existing documents.

  • Review, edit, and approve or reject Quality System documents, ensuring changes are appropriate, justified, and approved by required functional areas per established procedures.

  • Review documentation for consistency with related product specifications and labeling.

  • Organize, maintain, and ensure the integrity of the Document Control System in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Support implementation and ongoing effectiveness of the Quality System .

  • Ensure documentation accuracy, recognizing that product quality is directly linked to document integrity.

  • Follow EHS rules and procedures , report incidents or unsafe conditions promptly, and recommend improvements to EHS programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience working in a regulated environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or similar).

  • Proven experience reviewing and managing controlled documentation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and accurately.

  • Ability to influence and provide leadership related to documentation and quality requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage projects, and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated initiative, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in team environments.

  • Proficiency using document control systems, databases, and other computer software tools.

  • Professional interpersonal skills and appropriate workplace conduct.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree (or equivalent, typically 13 years of education) required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred (typically 16 years of education) and may offset experience requirements.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour
