Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Monday through Friday 1400 - 2230. Rotational duties include embedding microtomy special stains and digital pathology.

Pay Range

$25.30 - $37.95

Position Highlights

• Histologic Technician II - Anatomic Pathology
• 2nd shift Full-Time Monday through Friday night 1400 - 2230
• Winston Campus

Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify:

• Associates degree in applied science or high school diploma/GED with two years training as defined by the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the National Society of Histotechnology.
• Three years experience in a clinical histology lab preferred.
• HT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Essential Functions :

• Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assures accurate and timely accessioning labeling and billing of specimens according to departmental practices.
• Assures accurate and timely processing and staining of specimens according to departmental practices.
• Provides maximum care in identification procedures when processing patient specimens.
• Performs special stains and/or enzyme histochemical stains.
• Performs additional Anatomic Pathology Department laboratory procedures.
• Improves work skills through self-study and continuing education.
• Contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of the section and department.
• Protects self coworkers and facility by following approved policies and procedures to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases.
• Exhibits and promotes the professional image of laboratories in accordance with hospital department and professional society philosophies goals and standards of laboratory testing.
