The Role

As a Live Stream Technician , you are the backbone of our production. You will manage the technical execution of live broadcasts, ensuring high production value from the initial setup to the final whistle. This role is perfect for someone tech-savvy, reliable, and passionate about live sports and event production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Setup & Strike: Efficiently set up and break down broadcast equipment, including cameras, computers, microphones, sound boards, and video switchers.
  • Live Operation: Operate cameras and manage real-time production elements—including graphics, instant replays, and on-stream scoreboards—while following precise cues and directions from the Live Broadcast Producer to ensure a cohesive, professional broadcast.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve equipment or software issues on the fly to maintain a seamless stream.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with the production team to ensure all event-specific requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Age & Eligibility: Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Proficiency: 1–3 years of experience with A/V equipment (cameras, tripods, sound boards, and switchers).
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with YouTube Studio, OBS, vMix, Blackmagic ATEM, TrackWrestling/FloArena, or Bitfocus Companion.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move A/V equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Sports Knowledge: A general understanding of interscholastic sports rules is a significant plus.

Schedule & Travel

  • Location & Mobility: Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various schools throughout our coverage area within New Jersey .
  • Regional Travel: Occasional travel outside the primary coverage area may be required (e.g., Eastern Pennsylvania and Southern New York ). We arrange carpooling where possible; however, if you are required to drive to these locations, you will receive additional per-diem compensation.
  • Availability: Must be flexible and willing to work weekends and weekday evenings during the academic year.
  • Weekdays: Games can start as early as 3:00 PM.
  • Weekends: Games can start as early as 9:00 AM.
  • Call Times: Typically 90 minutes prior to the start of the event.
  • Advance Notice: We respect your time; schedules are typically provided at least 2 weeks in advance.
  • Travel Perks: While we strive for carpooling for long distances, any travel required outside of our primary coverage area includes an additional per-diem compensation.

Compensation

  • Rate: $18.00 per hour.
  • Structure: Events are paid via a "per-diem" model based on the scheduled length of the event.
  • Please note: This part-time position is not eligible for additional benefits.
