We are seeking a Physical Security Project Manager to join our team. This role will involve managing physical security system projects, coordinating field construction activities, overseeing low-voltage infrastructure implementations, and leading project delivery activities across security, IT, and operational teams. Job Description:

The Physical Security Project Manager will support the Enterprise Protection, Data & Analytics organization by leading physical security and low-voltage infrastructure projects across multiple operational sites. The Physical Security Project Manager will oversee project planning, installation coordination, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful project execution.

The Physical Security Project Manager will manage projects involving access control systems, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, perimeter protection technologies, and related infrastructure. The Physical Security Project Manager will work closely with subcontractors, technicians, vendors, IT teams, and business stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with organizational standards and PMO governance practices.

This Physical Security Project Manager role requires strong technical expertise in physical security systems, field construction coordination, low-voltage systems, and enterprise project management methodologies. The Physical Security Project Manager must also be comfortable working across office, field, and home environments while maintaining strong communication and operational leadership.

Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and deliverables using PMO-approved methodologies and templates.
  • Conduct site assessments to validate installation conditions, design requirements, and risk factors.
  • Coordinate installation activities for:
    • Access control systems
    • CCTV/video surveillance
    • Intrusion detection systems
    • Intercoms
    • Low-voltage infrastructure
  • Oversee procurement of materials, permits, and installation equipment.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and installation technicians to ensure compliance with project scope and standards.
  • Ensure all project documentation aligns with PMO standards, including:
    • Project charters
    • Risk logs
    • Communication plans
    • Closeout packages
Leadership & Quality Control
  • Lead onsite operations while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to field installation teams.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, commissioning, and system validation activities.
  • Maintain documentation including:
    • As-built documentation
    • Change orders
    • Progress reports
    • Project status records
Client & Stakeholder Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and internal business partners.
  • Provide structured project updates, dashboards, and reporting aligned with PMO governance requirements.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations related to timelines, budgets, deliverables, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate project handoff activities to operational support teams after implementation.
Budget & Risk Management
  • Track project budgets, labor utilization, material costs, and financial performance.
  • Identify scope changes and prepare change order documentation.
  • Maintain risk and issue logs in alignment with PMO standards.
  • Mitigate project risks through proactive issue resolution and planning activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience managing physical security projects, field construction projects, or low-voltage installation projects.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Access control systems
    • Video surveillance systems
    • Intrusion detection systems
    • Physical security infrastructure
  • Experience with security platforms such as:
    • AMAG
    • Software House
    • Genetec
    • Similar enterprise security systems
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Construction drawings
    • Wiring diagrams
    • Technical specifications
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools and PMO documentation standards.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, subcontractors, and field installation teams.
  • Valid driver s license with ability to travel to job sites.
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with field construction, physical security systems, or low-voltage electrical systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP, PSP, CPP, or manufacturer-specific certifications such as:
    • AMAG
    • Genetec
    • Avigilon
  • Experience working with:
    • General contractors
    • Security integrators
    • Enterprise security teams
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and field compliance requirements.
  • Background in:
    • Construction management
    • Electrical systems
    • Low-voltage trades
    • Physical security integration
  • Experience coordinating multiple trades and understanding construction sequencing.
Work Environment & Additional Requirements:
  • Hybrid work environment involving office, field, and remote work locations.
  • Local candidates only within 50 miles of Chico or Redding offices.
  • Travel may be required with approved expense reimbursement.
  • Candidate must provide personal or vendor-provided laptop until company-issued equipment becomes available.
