Designing Stability, Regulation, and Instructional Acceleration
This campus serves elementary students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges who require intensive, integrated supports beyond the traditional school setting. The model blends evidence-based instruction, applied behavior analysis, and mental health services to create a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment focused on stability, skill-building, and successful transition to less restrictive settings.
Position Overview
The Principal is the senior instructional and operational leader responsible for the full performance of the therapeutic campus. This role ensures academic rigor, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration of instructional, behavioral, and mental health systems. This role is a 12 month salaried position, expected to follow district administrative calendar. On-site throughout the summer with the exception of PTO.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all instructional programming aligned to standards and UDL
  • Ensure academic accountability and student progress monitoring
  • Oversee campus operations, safety, and crisis response
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
  • Supervise staff and lead performance management systems
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate mental health and behavior supports
  • Drive data-informed decision making using Insight™ and ABLE™
  • Foster a structured, predictable, and supportive school culture
  • Engage families and community partners
  • Classroom coverage, as needed
Expanded Leadership Expectations
  • Establish systems that promote student regulation and minimize crisis events
  • Ensure high rates of student engagement and opportunities to respond
  • Lead multidisciplinary collaboration across education, behavior, and clinical staff
  • Maintain visibility across classrooms to ensure fidelity of implementation
Credential Requirements
  • Florida Educational Leadership Certification
  • 3–5+ years of school leadership experience
