Job Description

Skybridge Luxury Associates has partnered with a luxury resort in Austin, Texas to conduct a confidential search for a Pastry Chef.

This is not a role for someone looking to maintain a program. This is a role for a pastry professional who wants to build one. The incoming Pastry Chef will lead the full pastry operation across all dining outlets, in-room amenities, banquets, and signature resort events, setting the standard for what guests taste, remember, and talk about long after they leave.

The Role

Day-to-day, this leader owns everything that comes out of the pastry kitchen. That means overseeing plated desserts, viennoiserie, artisan bread programs, chocolate and sugar work, and large-scale banquet production without ever letting quality slip under pressure. The Pastry Chef will develop and execute seasonal menus that reflect both technical excellence and a genuine sense of place, working in close collaboration with the Executive Chef and food and beverage leadership. Team development is central to this position. The right candidate builds people up and raises the standard around them.

What We Are Looking For

A minimum of five years of progressive pastry experience, with at least two years in a luxury hotel, resort, or fine dining environment. Formal culinary training in pastry arts or equivalent professional development. Demonstrated expertise across plated desserts, bread, viennoiserie, and large-scale event production. Proven ability to manage food cost, labor, and kitchen operations with financial discipline. A creative point of view that shows up in the work, not just in conversation.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of pastry experience, with luxury hospitality background required
  • Strong leadership track record with hands-on team development experience
  • Expertise in chocolate, sugar work, and Garde Manger pastry applications
  • Experience managing production schedules, ordering, and inventory
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional pastry training preferred
  • A portfolio that demonstrates range, intention, and craft
