Job Description

Crème de la Crop is known for its handcrafted allergy-friendly desserts, created by former Michelin star pastry chef Olivia Green. We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented team member to support weekly production. This role starts part-time and is designed to grow into a more consistent, higher-hour position as you take on more ownership of prep and production days.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist with and eventually lead weekly kitchen production (ice cream, inclusions, baked goods, etc.)
  • Communicate openly and directly with the Executive Chef
  • Follow detailed prep systems and recipes with consistency
  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient kitchen environment
  • Occasionally support retail service as needed
  • Monitor inventory across products, ingredients, and packaging and follow established systems for tracking and restocking

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
  • Interest in food production or small business operations
  • Ability to follow systems and recipes exactly 
  • Comfortable working independently after training
  • Execute multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing quality or consistency
  • ServSafe Certified a plus

Non-Negotiables:

  • Punctuality and reliability are essential
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must work efficiently and respectfully in a shared kitchen environment
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods (up to 8 hours with break)
  • Must have reliable and consistent transportation to Herndon, VA
  • Strong basic math skills (used for scaling and executing recipes accurately)
  • Minimum of 2 years of formal culinary training OR 2 years of professional kitchen experience (full-service or scratch kitchen; not quick-service). Pastry experience preferred, but not required. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are more valuable than anything.

Schedule:

  • 2–3 days per week to start 

Compensation:

  • $18/hour
  • Additional tips when working retail
