Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Truck Dispatcher/ Weigh Master located in Port Allen, LA. The Truck Dispatcher will coordinate transportation logistics and scheduling of trucks to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. They will work closely with drivers to provide direction, maintain communication, and resolve transportation issues. The role will also involve updating records, tracking routes, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and transportation standards. The weigh master for inbound and outbound customer traffic and industrial customer pricing.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dispatching, logistics management, or transportation coordination
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with drivers and team members
  • Technical proficiency with dispatch software, route optimization tools, and basic computer systems
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety procedures, and compliance standards
  • Problem-solving skills for addressing logistical challenges effectively and efficiently
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in dispatching or logistics are a plus
  • Familiarity with the recycling or waste management industry is advantageous
